RPAS certificates (basic and advanced) expire after two years. However, it can be renewed for another 24 months in three ways.
- Pass the online exam.
- Pass a flight review.
- Attend a Transport Canada (TC) approved RPAS seminar.
What to Expect
Two hour seminar with a review of some of the human factors and mission planning elements, which are required when planning a drone mission. Also, any updates to the drone laws that may have occurred since you received your certificate.
For attending the seminar, you will be awarded with a sticker for the back of your Pilot Certificate. This sticker extends the validity period of your RPAS certificate by another two years. Make sure to bring a physical copy of your Pilot Certificate to the seminar!
The seminar will be held at Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre. The number of people will be limited to ensure physical distances can be maintained. A mask or face shield will be mandatory for all attendees.
Pre-requisite: Have previously obtained a Basic or Advanced RPAS certificate
